How the Project Was Born
The Minema project started with a California homeowner and his deep passion for music. This led him to attend the CEDIA Expo, where he discovered the captivating sound quality of Wisdom Audio speakers. Determined to bring this exceptional audio experience to his entire house and new home theater, he sought out an integrator who could turn his vision into reality. After careful consideration, the homeowner selected our team, AUDIOVISIONS, a trusted and renowned technology integration company.
More than Just a Home Theater
Traditionally, home theaters are dedicated spaces to watch movies and enjoy other forms of entertainment. The Minema, however, can also accommodate remote work and virtual meetings. This unique requirement called for creative thinking and innovative solutions. The AUDIOVISIONS team collaborated with YorkTel, a commercial integrator, to engineer a built-in video conferencing system seamlessly integrated into the Crestron control system. This integration allowed for a smooth transition between work and leisure, as the video conferencing technology discreetly disappeared when not in use.
Top-Class Audio and Video
Audio quality was of paramount importance to the homeowner, leading to the implementation of a highly customized Roon digital music system for multi-room audio and the home theater. Then, near project completion, the owner decided to upgrade his surround sound system for an even more immersive audio experience. While this was certainly challenging, as the project was already beyond engineering, working closely with acoustic designer Paradise Theater, our experts were able to successfully accommodate the homeowner's request, delivering supreme sound quality.
For the perfect visual experience, a Sony 4K laser projector was paired with a Seymour Screen Excellence acoustically transparent projection screen. Moreover, creating the ideal viewing ambiance was only a tap away with the Crestron control system that manages Lutron motorized shades, further enhancing the cinematic experience.
The Minema Lifestyle
The installation of The Minema coincided with the height of the pandemic, presenting unprecedented challenges. Nevertheless, the completion of the project brought immense satisfaction to the homeowner. Zoom meetings conducted in the theater allowed the homeowner to continue growing his business and maintaining operations.
In a heartwarming turn of events, the owner and his wife even held their wedding in The Minema, sharing the moment with friends and family via the video conferencing system. The immersive and comforting ambiance of the home theater brought loved ones together, despite social distancing protocols.
